  • I am 25 weeks and started having Braxton hicks about 3 weeks ago. This whole week I have not felt the best...I am having loose bowels( tmi), I am feeling alot of pressure.. Today the contractions started 4 1/2 hours ago and vary between every 20 mintues or long to as quick as 10 minutes, but very irregular..I called my dr and they dont see patients Friday afternoons so they told me if it gets worse to go to the ER.. They contractions have settled down now and are only happening about 2 times an hour.. I don't know what to do... I had Braxton hicks with my 1st child 13 years ago, but dont remember them to be like this..

  • I never experienced that, but if you are uncomfortable, I would go get checked out at the hospital. Good luck!

  • I have been having that for about a month... mine started on a Sunday, I called my doc and she told me to go ahead and go to the hospital. I had 9 contractions in 2 hours, so she figured better to be safe than sorry. Of course when I got there, they stopped...now I get them all time, and to be honest, sometimes very scary and painful. If I change what Im doing, they usually go away. My doc has told me over and over, if I feel uneasy, go to the hospital. She (and myself) would rather me go to the hospital weekly for false alarms, than not go once and i be in actual trouble. I was afraid of looking paranoid and crazy for calling about every little thing, now every time I have an appt, I go in with a list of possible concerns lol. This is my first, so everytime something new happens, I freak out!!!! I wish you the best of luck!!

  • I would say that if you're apprehensive, head to the ER to calm your fears. It's always better to err on the side of caution than allow yourself to sit at home and stew with anxiety.
