Boiling water?

  • yep! the idea was to sterilize the scissors for cutting the cord and the tie/shoelace for tying off the cord.

  • I was gonna say because in the old days the knife or scissors to cut the cord would be regularly used household items so they would have to be sterilized....and could be to make them hotter so that they could cut easier???
