  • yesterday I got pretty freaked out for a short time(although I am still slightly freaking out, just not as much)... See, you know those contractions that are supposed to get things ready for the baby to come? I was having those last night. Luckily, they only lasted about 2 hours and then went away on their own just as fast as they started, but the thing is, when I started getting those with Douglas, he was born a couple weeks later! THIS time, I'm only just 26 weeks along, so if I go into real labor, that would be around 29-30 weeks judging by when DS decided to come into the world!

I know every pregnancy is different, but is there a pattern or any way of telling when this baby could come? Like I say, it's still pretty early yet for this one to be born, but I am also trying not to freak too much yet!

  • Don't read too much into it. Every pregnancy is different. I didn't have any braxton hicks with Jamie but with Kathryn I am getting them all the time. Probably twice a week since I was 25-26 weeks pregnant. The only time I would worry was if your son was born premature, because from what I have read if you've had one premature baby your risk is increased to have another. Next appointment express your concern with your doctor, he/she will probably be able to ease your fears

  • Braxton Hicks ctx are totally normal. As long as they don't become regular and painful, you're fine.

  • I've been having them on and off for a couple weeks now. Usually only a couple here and there, so I'm not so worried now! It was just that one night it was for like, two straight hours! Kinda scared me slightly!
