  • With the latest feature we published today, "

", I am curious to see how long your labors lasted vs. your Moms?

With my first daughter, labor lasted 6 hours. However, it was rough just getting labor started. Ended up having a pitocin drip after 24 hours of stop and start labor. With my second daughter, they broke my water. After that labor lasted about 7 hours.

My mother was in labor with me for 5 hours. So for me, this study they did is true.

  • Are we talking from the first contraction to actual delivery? That would have been about 17-18 hours. If you go by the time my water broke I think it was about 6 hours. I don't know how long my mom was in labor with me.

  • I was induced with all three.

#1: From first drip of pitocin to delivery = 11 hours
#2: From first drip to delivery (I had a placental abruption and pushed her out at 6cm) = 7 hrs
#3: From first drip to delivery = 9 hours

I don't have a relationship with my mother so I don't know about her labor/delivery.

  • I was induced with Avery, although when I went in to be induced I was 6.5cm dilated already.

From breaking of water (did that first)= 4.5 hours
