Default Midwife/Birthing Center Help

We are looking into the local birthing center in our area. Unfortunately there is only one and it is about a 30 mile drive. We have scheduled an appointment this Friday for a tour and information gathering.

What are your expierences with midwives and birthing centers. What should I look for during the tour and are there any questions you'd really recommend I ask??

I had midwives but in a hosptial setting. I wanted my epidural.
Too bad my baby had a different idea.

I would ask about emergencies.. with mom and baby, durring delivery. What is their plan.
