Unhappy scary symptoms

I found out i was pregnant 12 days ago. i have been having menstrual like cramping for 3 weeks now. today they were very strong and had a little brown spotting. I haven't even been able to get into the doctor yet and the first appointment is in 3 weeks. the cramping happens like 6 or 7 times a day and goes away within 5 to 10 minutes. should i be worried?

well, I would guess that is possible that you are in the process of a miscarriage.
But there is little that a Dr can do for you at this stage no matter what is going on. A Dr can't prevent the miscarrage, just confirm it's happening or not.

If the spotting turns to red, you can guess that you are indeed having a miscarriage.

BUT, fyi, if you call your Dr and tell them you're having bleeding, they will usually try to get you in right away to do a vaginal ultrasound and determine what is going on. Again, not that it'll change the course of events....

Cramping in early pregnancy is very common. Spotting, especially brown (which is old blood) is also very common. Sometimes when the baby is implanting it will cause a some bleeing. I had it with my son. I would call the dr Monday and tell them you are spotting and cramping and worried, hopefully they will get you in. Don't assume you are having a miscarriage if you start seeing red blood, while it may be a miscarriage, there are so many other things that could be going on. I hope that this is nothing more for you than normal cramping and some implantation spotting.

If the cramping has been going on for 3 weeks and you've only had brown blood it's unlikely a miscarriage. I agree with Valleygirl, call your Dr and let them know what's going on and see if you can get in sooner than your scheduled appointment.
