  • Back in August I wrote to my legislators but then 2 weeks later Hurricane Katrina hit then 3 weeks after that Hurricane Rita made landfall. Needlesss to say DH and I were VERY surprised to receive a telephone call yesterday. He asked us a few questions regarding insurance coverage, cost of treatments, etc. He asked for all of our contact numbers. He told me that he would introduce something during session but was not promising anything. His exact words were, "You know how some lobbyists can be, but I'm going to try my best". I reminded him that my insruance covers Viagra, Vasectomy, Tubal Ligation, Maternity, Abortion (Voluntary and Medical). He then asked if I had that in writing and to please fax him all the documents.

I faxed everything last night. I'm so excited! There is a chance that it will be shot down but at least I have someone's attention. This is such good news.

  • That is beyond cool! I just love that he took the time to call and truly listen! How great is that!!!!

I have written my government represenitives serveral times regarding infertility in Utah. I have to say one letter I got back was not very helpful. This certain idiot, I mean elected official, was not at all understanding that insurance is a must for the disease of infertility. What was funny, and a little disgusting, was not 10 minutes after I read the letter, Minnie my youngest cat threw up all over it. Guess we know what he thought of that letter!

Way to go to take a step and voice infertility. I think that is beyond cool. You never know.. your one phone call and letters might just give hundreds the chance to do infertility treatments.

  • That's exactly what I thought Susanne! Even if I have reached the end of my journey ~ maybe I can help other women receive the coverage they need.

Way to go Minnie! I couldn't stop laughing when I read that she threw up all over the letter. (Too bad you couldn't have mailed it back like that!)
