Bexco Recalls 1,100 4-in-1 Convertible CribsElizabeth Keefe |26, August 2014
On August 19, 2014, Bexco Enterprises Inc., of Montebello, California recalled its Franklin & Ben Mason style 4-in-1 style cribs due to fall and entrapment hazards, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Bexco has received 14 reports of the front part of the crib separating from the side panels, creating a serious safety hazard for babies. About 1,000 cribs are being recalled in the United States, and 100 in Canada.
The cribs, manufactured in Taiwan, and sold through specialty retail stores throughout the United States and Canada, includes model number 5601, and purchase order numbers H004522, H004546, H004548 or H004777. The model number, or serial number, can be found on the inside side panel.
The 4-in-1 cribs came in weathered gray and rustic brown colors with solid wood side panels and wood rails. They were sold for approximately 0 USD from January 2012 through June 2014.
Keep your baby safe! Serious harm could be done to babies who continue to use the crib without repairing it first. If you have one of these cribs, Bexco and the CPSC is urging parents to stop using the crib immediately, and contact Bexco toll-free at (888) 673-6652 for a free repair kit. Bexco can be reached Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm Eastern Standard Time. Repair kits can also be ordered online at the company website.
